Can I still use brochures and stationery with the old logo?

Many of you probably have stocks of envelopes, letter head, brochures and other printed materials with the old logo. Since the new brand is quite similar to the old, you can still use the old stock you may have. If you are, however, producing any new stationery or brochures, remember to use the new brand and refer to the guidelines available on this web site.

While we anticipate it will take some time to make the transition to the new brand in printed materials, we would recommend that you would start using the new brand in any electronic materials ( presentations , web sites etc.) you may be using as soon as possible.

Is there a deadline for starting to use the updated brand?

The goal is to implement the new brand in the next two years and "by 2009, becoming a stronger brand in every continent". Although this timeline is more realistic for the implementation of printed materials, there is no reason why we can't start already using the new brand in our digital communications.

Can CISV countries still create their own logos?

Each of the CISV countries are required to use the official CISV logo in their communications. However, we have created a way for each country to present their own identity next to the CISV symbol. It is important that we are consistent from country to country in using this system so that external visitors, for example on our web sites, recognize that we all belong to the same global organization.

Using this same system reinforces the values of the CISV brand - and therefore is a way to add value to your country's communications. Not only that, but you are helping the global organization to become better known at the same time. You can find out more about the system under sub-branding .

How can my country create its own logo?

We will provide your designer the basic working files that enables you to add your country's name next to the CISV symbol. However, to ensure we are consistently building each of the country brands, the final country logo will still have to be approved by us.

Can I translate the tag line?

Yes. Please notify us (branding@cisv.org) of your intention to translate the tagline, then follow the instructions found in the powerpoint presentation found under TRANSLATIONS in this website. Your final translation must be approved before use.

Do I always have to use the tag line?

The purpose of the tag line is very important, and the tagline must ALWAYS be used!

Can CISV camps still invent cool names like "fantasy camp" and create its own logos?

Yes. Diversity and individual creativity is part of what makes CISV so special. By no means we are intending to restrict your creativity; we are just trying to make sure that you also show association to a global CISV brand while you are creating your own cool stuff at camps and villages.
So feel free to create your own logos and camp names as long as you remember to use the CISV International logo and tag line somewhere on your T-shirt.
