Pocket T…………..what do you think?

You may have heard that we are currently in the middle of a project to refresh the way we present our educational principles and content. At AIM 08 in Florence, we presented a draft version of a booklet which contains a summary of CISV educational principles, and asked for comments. The handbook has been called Pocket T. This is because it is a summary of the info file document Section T and it is small enough to fit in your pocket! The inside cover says “Pocket T can be used for training CISVers and helping people who are new to the organisation.”

Now it is your turn! We would love to hear what you think about the content, layout and style of the booklet.

  • Do you think there is anything missing?
  • Are the ideas clearly presented?
  • Would you use it and if so what for?
  • If not, is there a particular reason why and is there anything we can do to make it easier for you to use?

As we hope to have Pocket T ready for printing and distribution by the end of December, we need your comments back by September 23 rd. While you are doing this we will also be revising the education and evaluation chapters of the General Guide. These two chapters will provide a more details on the CISV educational principles and content.

In the future we also hope to combine these two chapters in a larger booklet called Big T.

Please send your ideas/comments to kiran.hingorani@cisv.org and I will share all the information with the team.

Pocket T is available from this link Pocket T

Best wishes

The ‘curriculum content’ team and Kiran.

CISV’s purpose is to prepare individuals to become active and contributing members of a peaceful society. CISV endeavours to stimulate the lifelong development of amicable relationships, effective communication skills, cooperative abilities, and appropriate leadership towards a just and fair world.

This study considered how the purpose of CISV, introduced above, had been achieved for a structured sample of participants from the first forty years of the organisation, 1951 -1991, and how CISV participation had affected other aspects of their lives.
