About Fundraising in CISV

It is common knowledge that 'People give to People' and therefore the team have spent some time working with National Association is trying to identify people who could be potential donors, sponsors or financial contributors to CISV at the International level.

The Fundraising team is now also working on developing tools that will help volunteers at the National and local chapter better understand the mechanics of fundraising and increase the chances of success in a very difficult field.

As well as the personal contacts, the team is aware of many opportunities to seek support from organisations such as the European Union and the Council of Europe as well as a number of Foundations known to be sympathetic to the goals and aspirations of CISV.

Recent successes have included:

  • US$40,000 fron the ITOH Foundation to assist with chapters to host Villages and other activities;
  • US$15,000 from the Schocken Foundation for scholarships for delegates to attend Villages and other activities; and
  • 35,000 Euros from the European Union for assistance with administrative expenses.

The long-term future of the organisation depends of the development of a successful fundraising plan so if you have a personal contact that could be approached to support CISV internationally please contact the fundraising team and they will work with you to develop a plan specifically for you and your contact.
