Mosaic Training 2010-2011
Like all CISV Programmes, Mosaic relies of training to ensure both the quality of its projects and the growth and development of the the programme around the world. The first five years ofMosaic saw a rapid spread to many National Associations and Promotional Associations worldwide - this growth was a direct result of training. At AIM 2010 the IMC adjusted its training strategy to respond to current training needs.
Mosaic now has two different types of training:
1. Regional Mosaic Trainings
These are the most comprehensive type of trainings for Mosaic. Every NA should ensure they send at least one person to this type of training every two years.Regional Mosaic Trainings happen at CISV Regional Training Forums (RTFs) three or four times a year. Every region should have a Regional Mosaic Training every second year.
These trainings go for 3-4 days and are targeted at Mosaic Chairs from NAs and chapters, as well as project staff and coordinators. These trainings are run by IMC members and Mosaic experts (as assigned by the IMC)
2. Local Mosaic Trainings
These trainings cover all the main elements of planning, running and evaluating Mosaicprojects. They happen at the chapter or NA level and should last about 2 days. The target group is Mosaic project staff and coordinators. Trained National or chapter Mosaic Chairs may deliver this training.
The IMC is trying to build a comprehensive list of Mosaic chairs from around the world who can help us out at the chapter or NA level. If you think you're the best person for the job please get in touch with your IMC regional contact person: Asia-Pacific - Pia (sofiamexia@gmail.com), Europe - Camilla (camilla.wetzel@dk.cisv.org), North America - Matt (mattnahan@gmail.com), South America - Juanma (juanmaoviedo@gmail.com) or Kel Garcia (kelgarcia@gmail.com)
Training Tools
Very soon the IMC will be releasing the Mosaic Training Curriculum - a handbook on all the training goals, content and methods for both types of Mosaic training. We hope this document will be an invaluable resource for Mosaic trainers - stay tuned - we expect it to be released by the end of September.
There will also be a whole lot of other training tools in the works - a new guide, guidance notes to help work through the Mosaic worksheet, and so on. These will be available in the next few months on the Mosaic Resources website. We are also working on translating our documents into a range of languages. For the time being, check out our brochure (attached) about the new training strategy.
If you have any questions about training please contact Deb (debs711@gmail.com) or Chris (chris.stokes@au.cisv.org).
