The Project Prijedor Association Description
The Project Prijedor Association would like to implement a project in Ljubija aiming at studying and showing off the history of the 20th century in this town. Particularly, the project should focus on the impact that industrialization has had on the community, its territory and its urban, architectonical and social development. As a matter of fact, Ljubija has had one of the most important iron mine of Southeast Europe, which highly contributed to the development of the city throughout the last century, until the Yugoslavian crisis in the 1990s, which determined its closure. In addition to that, the mine has been used as mass grave during war and nowadays has been bought by an Anglo-Indian corporation and remains closed. Today, Ljubija is one of the poorest cities within the Municipality of Prijedor and has strong economic, social and infrastructural problems. ContactDocuments: |
