SOS-Children's Villages
SOS-Children’s Villages is an international non-governmental social development organisation that has been active in the field of children's rights since 1949. It’s activities focus on children without parental care and children of families in difficult circumstances. The Centre plays an important role in the neighbourhood – where many families have a migration background. The centre is a multi-cultural, meeting point for families and all generations.
Description
The IPP will deal with the topics of diversity and inclusion. Participants will learn how people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds and from other cultures are integrated into the society in Germany, in their own country and in the countries of the other IPP participants. They will discuss the challenges of migration and try to find ideas to apply what they will learn throughout the IPP in their own countries especially with the focus on disadvantaged children.

Practical Contribution
|
|
Participants be part of the multi-cultural centre and participate in the activities the centre offers, including cooking, making handicrafts, courses in English conversation and helping out in the international garden. Once the participants have experienced life in the centre and have a feeling for the challenges the community is facing, we will hold a camp for the children of the community at the age of 11 – 13 years. The theme is “Circus of cultures – the world at home in Neuaubing”. They will experience life in a different context, to explore their own community and culture as well as other cultures.
