Description

During this IPP CISV will be working with Fundação Lusalite Vida, who promotes community development for the families of the workers of Lusalite.in order to break the cycle of poverty. In this context, the partner organization works with the local community – directly with more than 400 individuals (66 families) focussing on the importance of a healthy sustainable environment by providing economical and social development, health, culture and sports. This IPP will focus on the needs of the community consisting of 400 individuals, and of the projects already being developed by the partner organization, giving the participants an amazing and overall approach of its reality and challenges, in its different aspects. The challenges of this IPP will give the participants a chance to live inside a community that is developing, sharing their hopes, working alongside with them, which will hopefully bring them a unique opportunity to understand one of Africa’s many cultures and make them more aware of the differences around the world in terms of sustainability and the breaking of the cycle of poverty. The participants will be working on three different projects such as creating a green house together with the partner organization and the women of the community. In the second project the IPP group will identify/label trees and set a path along the labelled trees in order to use tours in the forest as a tool for promotion of Dondos landscape. Furthermore the participants will hold an educational workshop to provide tools not only to work with the children of the community creating awareness of the environment and healthy habits of hygiene, but also develop workshops of educational content for the guides of the forest.
