About

Welcome to the Organisational Relations Committee pages!

ORC was officially created as a new committee at AIM 2009. We are part of the Profile Raising Department which consists of 3 committees:

  • International Communication Committee (ICC)
  • Public Relations Committee (PRC)
  • Organisational Relations Committee (ORC)

These three committees work with internal and external communications, reaching from developing the new website, developing and implementing communications strategies, producing tools and resources, to establishing and maintaining with international institutions and like-minded organisations.

So what exactly does the ORC do?

ORC is responsible for maintaining CISV’s official relations with other organizations, such as UNESCO, Council of Europe and European Youth Forum; seeking and building new relations, and supporting and promoting the benefits of partnership working throughout CISV.

The committee is divided up into three main areas, with targeted priorities within these areas:

By December 2012, to have a clear agenda for CISV International’s organisational relations, in order to raise our profile and maximise the benefits we can obtain from them, within an effective use of available resources.

ORC would like to establish relations with relevant International Non Governmental Organisations (INGOs) and institutions in all regions, and develop a clear agenda in order to represent CISV International in a consistent and competent manner. Furthermore we would like to develop tools to guide and support our external representation. ORC is also striving to identify potential external partners and resources, which could benefit CISV, as well as identifying external opportunities, which are relevant to CISV and our members.

  • Coordination within CISV international

By December 2012, to have in place due tools and channels for an effective exchange of information with relevant bodies within CISV to ensure constant cooperation with them.

The Committee would like to collect information from the committees that work with other organisations and use that information to develop tools for them to use in these relations.
In order to do that, the committee has come up with a few channels to communicate progress.

  • Support for NAs & chapters

By December 2012, to have effective tools and coaching in place for NAs and chapters to secure larger benefits are obtained from the relationship with other organisations.

The comittee would like to develop the database in order to get an overview of the external relations CISV international has and to make it easier for NAs and chapters to access information from this resource. Furthermore ORC would like to enlarge the local engagement of NAs and chapters with structural external partners as EVS, UNESCO and others. In order to achieve these goals ORC will provide tools and coaching for NAs and chapters to make sure everyone is working towards a common goal in the external relation work CISV International is doing.
