CHAPTER DEVELOPMENT
Target Audience:
All chapter members interested in gaining the attitudes, skills and knowledge to take an active role in developing and improving their Chapter by utilizing both RDT and JB resources.
Training Content:
  • A forum on training and development for people working at Chapter/National level
  • Tools to implement in the Chapter/NA
  • Personnel (recruiting, training and motivating volunteers etc.)
  • Structures (Chapter structure, role profiles/job description, planning and project management etc.)
  • Junior Branch essentials
  • JB development tools
  • Experience sharing

EDUCATION AND EVALUATION TRAINING
Target Audience:
All Chapter members interested in increasing their understanding of CISV’s approach to education and evaluation. Trustees, NA presidents, Chapter chairs, NA and Chapter Programme committee chairs (Programmes, Profile Raising, Communication, Education, Fund Development, Mosaic, Leadership Training, etc), and Junior Branch Leaders are particularly encouraged to attend.

  • Introduction to CISV’s educational purpose, principles, and resources
  • CISV’s definition of Peace Education
  • An overview of the Attitudes, Skills and Knowledge (ASK) Model and the CISV’s Educational Content Areas
  • The fundamentals of Experiential Learning and 'learning by doing'
  • CISV’s approach to Programme Evaluation and 'how we know we are good at what we are doing'
Key learning outcomes:
  • A deepened understanding of education and evaluation to be better equipped to contribute to CISV Programmes.
  • A working knowledge of the ASK model, used to plan and evaluate CISV’s programmes.
  • The ability to use the educational content areas to develop programme themes and activities and experiential learning to facilitate those activities.
  • Knowledgeable on CISV International’s approach to programme evaluation and it can be used to improve educational quality within programmes.
  • Practice applying this knowledge to recruitment and retention, fund development, and profile raising at the local level.

NATIONAL SECRETARY TRAINING
Target Audience:

PROFILE RAISING TRAINING 
Target Audience:
Anyone new to profile raising and promotional activities, or for those involved in these areas who are looking to refresh their skills and ideas.
Training Content:
  • Introduction to Profile Raising and why we need to do it; understanding the difference between profile raising and public relations and the link to fundraising.
  • Understanding CISV's educational approach and to explain it to others.
  • Understanding Simon Sinek’s “Golden Circle”, including an in-depth understanding of why and how CISV uses the golden circle to effectively communicate our message.
  • Learning how to tell the story of CISV by targeting audiences and making it personal, including use of social media and public speaking techniques.
  • Understanding the importance of profile raising to support and develop partnerships with other organizations.
  • Introducing CISV tools and resources and how to make the best use of them.
     
The training will also give the invaluable opportunity to meet with other CISVers involved in profile raising and start building mutually supportive networks for the future.

PROMOTER TRAINING
Target Audience:
Promoters and people interested in promotional work
Training Content:
  • Introduction to the Promoter's role
  • Best Practices from Buddy/Promotional Work
  • Cultural Management (what do I have to consider when working with people with a diffrent cultural context)
  • Fundraising
  • CISV administration/calendar
  • Setting Setting up a roadmap/development plan (target: action to be taken locally, and support required from Buddy NA and/or CISV international)

RISK MANAGER TRAINING 
Target Audience:
This training is designed for CISV National and Chapter Risk Managers.
Training Content:
Through experiential learning and hands-on application of knowledge, participants will enhance the knowledge and skills required to be an effective Risk Manager for CISV. The topics addressed in the workshop include:
  • Role of the Risk Manager
  • Governmental Laws
  • Insurance
  • Incident Response
  • CISV Forms and Documents
  • Risk Management and CISV Programmes
  • Confidentiality
  • Responding to Parents and Participants
  • Enforcement of CISV Rules and the Risk Management Database

TREASURER TRAINING
Target Audience:
The Treasurers Training is intended for treasurers or future treasurers of National Associations in order to give them practical knowledge and skills in performing their jobs. 
Training Content: The workshop will cover the revised Guide for Treasurers, including:
  • Responsibilities of NA Treasurers regarding CISV International, the National Association and chapter Treasurers.
  • Communication requirements between international, national and local levels.
  • Practical applications and samples of different financial reports and statements needed for a transparent national financial report; and
  • How to create and manage a balanced budget.

 

After the training, participants will be able to do simple financial record keeping for their National Associations that should pass internal and external audit.
